Man, it’s awesome seeing all these RPG favorites! I’ve got to agree with FFIX being a top contender. The story, the characters, and that ending sequence were just perfect. I’ve beaten it more times than I can count. And yeah, FFVII was the hook, but IX had this charm that kept me coming back.
But let’s not forget some other gems. Secret of Mana on the SNES was a blast, especially with co-op. And Baldur’s Gate really brought D&D to life on PC. Anyone else remember Icewind Dale? It had that gritty atmosphere that I loved.
And for those into MMORPGs, RuneScape was a game changer for free-to-play. Sure, the graphics weren’t top-notch, but the content and community made up for it. What’s your go-to RPG when you want to unwind?

Final Fantasy is definitely the best RPG series out there. I’ve played most of them, and each one has something special. FFIX and FFX are my favorites, but I also loved Skies of Arcadia Legends. That game had such an adventurous feel, exploring the skies and discovering new islands.
I never got into MMORPGs much, but I can see the appeal. The browser-based ones are interesting, but they can’t match the depth of a good console RPG. Anyone else think the newer FFs lost some of that classic magic?
I’ve tried a ton of MMORPGs over the years - Priston Tale, Anarchy Online, RuneScape, Maplestory, and even some wacky ones like ASDF Game where you race hoverboards. It’s amazing how many free options are out there. ASDF Game even had marriage features, which was weird but fun.
For me, the social aspect and constant updates keep me hooked. But I respect the classic RPGs too; they have stories you can really sink your teeth into. Has anyone else tried browser RPGs? They’re limited but surprisingly addictive.
