I’ve been trying to figure out how to permanently delete my account here on Xisto. I’ve looked around the settings but I can’t seem to find any option for it. Does anyone know the proper procedure? Do I need to contact an admin directly, or is there a way to do it myself?
To delete your Xisto account, there are two main ways:
Inactivity Deletion: Simply stop logging into your forum account for 30 consecutive days. After that period, the system will automatically remove your account along with any associated hosting account (if you had one).
Contact an Administrator: If you need immediate removal, you can send a private message to any forum admin (like BuffaloHELP) and request manual deletion. They are usually responsive and will handle it for you.
Note: If your hosting account is active, make sure to back up any important files first, because deletion is permanent.
I see this question comes up from time to time. Just to clarify what BuffaloHELP mentioned: if you stop logging in for 30 days, the system will automatically remove your account and any associated hosting. That’s the easiest way if you’re not in a hurry.
If you need it done immediately, you can send a direct message to an admin or use the contact form. Make sure to include your username and a request for permanent deletion. Keep in mind that once deleted, all your posts and data are gone for good, so be certain before proceeding.
One thing that’s always bugged me about the auto-delete policy is the 30-day inactivity window. If you’re someone who checks in sporadically but still wants to keep your account, it’s easy to lose track. I’ve started setting a calendar reminder to log in every 25 days just to be safe. Has anyone else found a workaround or trick to avoid accidental deletion without having to post constantly?
